So I ended up with a custom cell, which is widened up to 30" and pushed 3" forward to help avoid cantilevering more weight out behind the wheels, with a chamfer on the back to keep it basically invisible from the rear.

I didn't like the poor safety factor of the donor tank, so a fuel cell was a must.
The Mustang fuel cell has enough holes in it to make me question its ability to
actually contain the gas, not to mention to mention a side fill plate with no
flapper valve. The view of the tank hanging down below the body isn't very
attractive either. So I ended up with a custom cell, which is widened up to 30" and pushed 3" forward to help avoid cantilevering more weight out behind the wheels, with a chamfer on the back to keep it basically invisible from the rear. |
